He was also unusually interested (for a westerner) ineastern mysticism; but was not without his attachments to aspects ofthe material world. The man's life is told, through old and newinterviews with himself and his friends, and archive footage (of whichthere is plenty), in Martin Scorcese's film. Living in the Material World is the fourth studio album by English musician George Harrison, released in 1973 on Apple Records. As the follow-up to 1970's critically. George Harrison first became known to the world as 'The Quiet Beatle' of the Fab Four, but there was far more to his life than simply being a part of The Beatles. It's fair to say the filmis somewhat hagiographic, telling an overwhelming sympathetic story: areference to a period of heavy drug abuse is made, but not directlycommented upon, and no reference is made to the Natural Law Party(whose bizarre platform in the 1992 British general election wasactively supported by Harrison). And one might question how much of thestory of his later life is really that interesting, or whether hisapparent contradictions were the simple consequence of having too muchmoney and time. But one thing does come over: for all his failings, heseems to have been a genuinely loved human being, in a decidedlyunusual way; to combine that with the musical legacy of the Beatles isnot such a bad epitaph for a life. I mustadmit - I was crying at the end of this great, deeply sympathetic, endearing, sincere, sweet eulogy to a great Master, George Harrison, who is not with us for 10 years now. When George died in 2001, I was inreal shock. As if my father dies, or my best friend. Maybe, onlyHarrison produced such a tremendous effect on me as when he was nomore, I cried a week. ![]() Spitfire Pictures![]() I was asking that year, Can anyone make a movieabout him? I loved every second of this great narration andwas deeply touched by sincere confessions of Ringo, Paul, Eric, Tom,many others. When they cried, I wanted to weep too. George was reallysomebody special, different, enigmatic and profoundly great. MartinScorcese made a real labor of love here, and all the rare footage andextremely great commentaries from Ravi, Idles, Gilliam or Patti andOlivia made this big movie a classic right now. Much to my surprise, most of the material was fresh, amazing materialthat I'd never seen before. With insights from Paul and Ringo thatheld me spellbound. Kemudian kutukan mulai berjalan. Untung ada seorang kyai yang tiba-tiba datang dan menolongnya. Film wiro sableng pendekar 212. Akibatnya, Untung sakit-sakitan nyaris gila. Istrinya serong. How George was introduced to John Lennon and thefirst song he played on top of a bus(watch the movie for the details)-just the little things you'd never know unless you saw the movie. In my opinion, the first half was better than the second half, I thinkmostly because I knew how things would end. And I really, reallydidn't want it to end. I miss George and John.
